M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu was born in 1954 in Mersin. He completed his secondary education and high school 1st and 2nd grades at Tarsus American College and his 3rd year of high school at Acalanes High School in California, United States of America. He graduated as a “Civil Engineer” from Cornell University, New York State in 1976 and received his master’s degree from the same university in 1977.
Mr. Lokmanoğlu who served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mersin Maritime Association of Shipowners and Agents from 1986 to 1990, and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Mersin Chamber of Shipping in 1989. Mr. Lokmanoğlu, who has been the President of the Executive Board of the Chamber since its establishment, has also served as a TOBB Delegate, TOBB High Coordination Board Member and TOBB Arbitration Court Member. Following the 2018 and 2022 elections, he continues to take an active role within TOBB as a Member of the Executive Board and Co-Chairman of the Turkish Side of the Türkiye-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum.
Mr. Lokmanoğlu is actively engaged in commercial activities in ship agency and refrigerated transportation.
Cihat Lokmanoğlu is fluent in English. He is married and has two daughters.
