Mersin Chamber of Shipping is one of the two independent Chambers of Shipping in Türkiye. We act with the sense of responsibility that this fact imposes on us and we direct our efforts with our management team that is well-acquainted with the maritime industry, are competent in their fields, and endowed with knowledge and foresight.

Building strong institutions is a difficult and labor-intensive task. Since its establishment in 1989, the Mersin Chamber of Shipping, supported by its qualified team and members, has risen on solid foundations to become one of the leading and respected institutions in the region.

In the forthcoming period, we will persist in our efforts by elevating our objectives and contributing to the advancement of maritime trade, which serves as the driving force of development. We will dedicate all our resources to safeguarding the rights of the maritime sector, addressing the issues faced by our members both locally and before legislative bodies, and accurately and effectively representing our members who contribute to the economic vitality of the city and the nation.

We will strive to strengthen the city’s connection with the sea and continue to prioritize economic and social development. As in the past, we will regard investment in human capital as the most valuable investment and will persist in our commendable efforts in education. By elevating the standards of the Mersin Chamber of Shipping Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and completing the construction of the Mersin University Mersin Chamber of Shipping Maritime Faculty building, we will ensure the training of qualified seafarers.

Our primary source of motivation in the forthcoming period will be our team, members, stakeholders and the citizens of the city. However, recognizing that success cannot be achieved through our efforts alone, we urge our esteemed members to communicate their professional demands and concerns to our Chamber through the appropriate channels and committees, and to remain engaged with our activities.
